What is the purpose of the summer school program?
The productive combination of advanced learning with culture and leisure. Debating the Ethics of AI will be the content of the lectures and the workshops in the unique environment of Ancient Olympia which is neighboring the accommodation and sports facilities of the International Olympic Academy.
Who is eligible to attend the summer school program?
High School and University students, as well as teachers aiming at enriching their knowledge in the methods of debating and in the current discourse about AI Ethics.
How long does the summer school program last?
The duration of the program has been set to 10 days for this year, from 20-30 of July.
What are the dates and hours of operation for the program?
There are 3 hours of lectures, 2 hours of workshops, and 3 hours of common cultural activities daily.
What subjects or courses are offered in the summer school curriculum?
Lectures about the state of AI today, lectures about the Ethics of AI, lectures about methods of debating about AI, and practical workshops.
How are classes structured? Is there a daily schedule?
Classes are structured based on age of the participants. For the daily schedule look at the website of the event.
Are there any prerequisites for specific courses?
The interest of the participants is the sole base for the participation in the summer school. Curiosity, willingness to learn, active participation and spirit of cooperation and dialogical mind are the only prerequisites.
Will transportation be provided for attendees?
No! Attendees have to reach Olympia by their own means, but there will be support and help in organizing the transport.
Is there a cost associated with attending the summer school program?
There are fees for the academic part of the event, and costs for the accommodation at the International Olympic Academy.
What accommodations are available for attendees who live outside the area?
Hotels and private rooms are usually fully booked and we do not recommend this option of accommodation. The program will have its optimal flow if all attendees are present in the areal of the International Academy.

What meals are provided during the program, and are there options for dietary restrictions?
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are offered in the restaurant of the International Olympic Academy. Special needs will be satisfied if declared timely.
What extracurricular activities or recreational opportunities are available to participants?
Antique Olympia, Olympia Museums, Olympia Theater, swimming and sports, Paris Olympic Games on screen, board games, movies, walks in nature, dance and music
How are attendees supervised outside of class hours?
Minors are permanently supervised by volunteers and experienced staff. Mature participants should always give notice of their activities.
What safety measures are in place to ensure the well-being of participants?
First aid station in the International Olympic Academy. Primary Health Unit in the village of Olympia.
Are there any required materials or textbooks for courses, and how can they be obtained?
Material will be distributed electronically to all participants.
What is the policy on absences and tardiness?
All participants are supposed to regularly follow all classes and workshops. In case of absences will be edited only certificates of participation and not certificates of successful attendance with ECTS.
How are academic progress and performance assessed during the program?
Participation in Workshops with written or oral performances will be evaluated and marked.
Are there any opportunities for students to earn academic credit or certification?
Regular and active participation will result in the assignment of academic credits.
How can parents or guardians stay informed about their child's progress and activities during the summer school program?
Parents of minors can receive on request every three days in their email assessments of the performance and behavior of their children.
What is the consequence of illicit actions of the participants or of actions directed against the regulation of the Summer School or of the International Olympic Academy?
Every participant or parent or custodian in case of minors recognize the right of the Organizers to exclude from further participation those who break the law. In case of transgression of the regulations, there will be inflicted first a warning and in case of regress the final exclusion from the Summer School.
